The Well, home of Wolverhampton Food Bank, has benefited from our ‘Charity Box’ initiative, with a 20ft shipping container supplied at a discounted rate to provide additional space for the charity’s ambient food storage.
The customer
A Christian charity with a mission to meet the practical needs of its home city of Wolverhampton, The Well helps those in difficult circumstances by providing emergency food and supplies, including baby food and toiletries. Since 2006 it has helped more than 120,000 people, delivering supplies to an average of between 80 and 120 homes a week.
What is the Charity Box initiative?
Through our Charity Box initiative, we invite humanitarian registered charities to hire a shipping container for free for six months, with the following six months charged at 50 per cent of the usual tariff. The initiative applies to eligible charities across the Midlands, as well as those in Liverpool, Leeds and Felixstowe and a range of standard sized shipping containers are available to hire through the scheme to suit different requirements.
What the client said
Caroline Price, Project Leader at The Well, said: “We’re delighted with the service provided by S Jones Containers, with the team always on hand and being quick to respond, despite the container being part of a charity initiative rather than a paid-for project. The container is providing us with an essential storage place for our wide range of ambient food products to help those in need across Wolverhampton.”
